The Board is committed to protecting the privacy of its service users, employees and Board members.

There are two types of data covered by Data Protection legislation: Personal Data (e.g. name, address, contact details) and Special Category Data (e.g. health information, union membership). Wherever possible the Board will collect the minimum information needed for its purposes and avoid collection of Special Category Data. If we don’t need personal information we will either keep you anonymous or we will not ask you for it.

Legislation also gives Data Subjects (you) a number of rights which are explained in our General Data Protection Regulations 2016 – Data Subject Rights Guidance Note.

The Board has produced a number of policy documents setting out how we will process Personal Data and Special Category Data, all of which can be found at the bottom of this page.

The Board has appointed a Data Protection Officer to assist with this and to monitor our compliance with the law. If you have any concerns or questions about how we look after your personal information, please contact the Data Protection Officer on governance@deidb.co.uk or 01507 328095.
